R.I.P. Plaza Theatre



I was really disheartened to hear that the Plaza theatre on M.G Road, Bangalore has been closed down. It will be (or already has been) demolished for another boring high rise building to spring up.

I have fond memories of the theatre. It was one of our regulars during my college days. The best part of the theatre I like is the 'balcony' seats area. The seats are placed on such deep steps that no matter how tall you are, you will never hinder the view of the guy sitting behind you. The balcony seems to slope down so dangerously that I always thought if I tripped, I would tumble down to the ground floor!

March 17th was the theatre's last day. Kiran Jonnalagadda was there during the last show and has taken some very nostalgic pictures of the theatre.
