It's a fact that companies are coming to terms with that the 30 second spot or the traditional advertising/marketing route is increasingly becoming less effective.

But, when we talk about community engagement, I think most companies in India including all sizes of brands are taking a shallow approach. It's almost like that nice pretty term often being used in power points to massage the ego of bosses.

It's important to understand what it means by community engagement in the real sense esp when it comes to tapping the virtual society and then take the right approach.

As times are changing fast, brands need to ensure that they get specialists on board for domains that they have little expertise in. If they don't then someone else will and it could well be the nearest competitor.

Hey Rajat, actually it's an old marketing trick.

The difference when it comes to bloggers is like walking a thin fine line. If the product is good, it gets talked fine. If its bad, it gets thrashed.

Yesterday, the N82 froze. Twice. I will mention this fact without blinking as much as I'd praise its wonderful 5 MP camera.

Another cool advertising trick in blogging era is to gift products to popular bloggers to try them out and write about it :-)
