As many of you already know, I’m currently authoring a book on Crowdsourcing. Me and my research intern have been spending the better part of the month researching and writing. The book is taking shape very well.
We are now throwing the doors open and encouraging you to be part of the book. Not just because the book is on crowdsourcing, but because I have long realized that my intelligence is limited. I look upon your wisdom to enrich the book.
I invite you to be part of the book. Here’s how you can participate.
Tweet about your views on Crowdsourcing. Remember, your personal opinion is what matters.
It can be anything related to crowdsourcing. It could be about its usefulness, tips, your experiences etc. Don’t hold yourself back.
You can send in as many tweets. Preferably if its within 140 characters. But, don’t worry if you cannot. Just send it. We’ll do word play later to get it in line.
If you need two tweets to convey a certain message, that’s fine.
Alternatively, you can also email it to me at Kiruba[@]Kiruba.com. Or SMS me at +91.98415 97744. Or just leave a comment in this post.
20% of the book, that’s 28 tweets of the 140 tweets, will be from you all. I’ve done most of my part of the book and now look up to you for your wisdom.
For each selected tweet that makes the cut, your tweet will be published in the book along with your name and twitter ID. Your photo, your profile and link to your Twitter ID, blog, Facebook page, Flickr account will be published in the companion website. Once the book is complete, you will be amongst the first to get the PDF version of the book.
I look forward to collaborating together.

Whenever I have some query related to computer tools or software. Simply tweet and will receive atleast 5 replies out of which 2 will give the solution..
Hi Kiruba, So what’s the status with the previous “Unconferences” book you started? Did it get published?
Hey Kiruba, am tweeting my thots on Crowdsourcing @sundararajt
a good wiki is more dynamic, authentic, knowledgeable than a formal guide. probably because of updating as ideas occur and insights happen.

Hi you and your better half were featured in Mush Register in The Hindu, enjoyed it.
Love the green, much better than the purple !
The problem with tweeting is that the magnitude of ideas are sometimes underestimated by the brevity of the expression
(I tweet @thotsunlimited)
Btw, I loved it when Rajesh Setty did it and overwhelmed that you too are into it!! Good luck
Our vedas and upanishads are all great examples of crowdsourcing!collection of the very best of minds!
Working on the Internet, competing with the crowds of other software development companies online, helped us to improve greatly. Competition, comparison and companions online are playing an important role in learning and growth of any organization or individual.
My article on Crowdsourcing Ideas:
http://nandakishor.com/content/crowdsourcing-ideas
Going to write few more on the same topic in the future too. Shortly “Crowdsourcing Ideas – Part2″ will be published in my website.
Crowds make an idea happen faster; not necessarily wiser. Crowds tend to conform to peer pressure than do the right thing. Under Mahatma Gandhi this was for good. Under Adolf Hitler this was for bad. Ever got caught in a political rally where the party wants to demonstrate its muscle power?
Tagore urges us all to resist conforming to crowd in this Bengali song: “Jyoti koi daak shune naashe tabi aakle chalo rey”. If the whole world is going the wrong way, I shall walk alone than join the crowd!
RIP MJ.. the Molester Jackson ? We will have to wait until one of the kids grow up and write a book… by then, you may be long forgotten…
all said and done.. can crowdsourcing have produced the genius in music? I very much doubt it! ..that I would say is the limitation of CS
great job sir..

Kribs,
I don’t have a twitter account. So i am commenting here about your tweet. Regarding Photosynthesis the image shows plants taking in carbon dioxide and giving out oxygen. But your daughters book says “Air rich in oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide is given out”, contradicting the image!!! And isn’t the statement itself wrong, given the image shows the Sun. Not only is plagiarism involved, but they are teaching wrong stuff

Let’s think well before tweeting; let brevity be rule #1; Remember this : “I made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter. Pascal, Provincial Letters XVI”…. That’s the power of a well thought out Tweet.
My Wishes for the success of the book on Crowdsourcing..
Thanks also for encouraging the public to ink their opinions on crowdsourcing..
My learning and understanding on crowdsourcing..
Who can make the best out of it?
* Freelancers
* Small cap software and design firms
* Housewives
* Beginners who want to add values in their career development
Is this a new concept?
* No. We already have siblings of crowdsourcing such as wikipedia, google earth, forums, blogging, twitting, etc.
Greatness:
* Working for multiple clients at the same time.
* Tasks can be undertaken based on the interests.
Pitfalls:
* Larger tasks can not be split and crowdsourced.
* No followup can be performed by the task owner, sometimes.
* Many of the online companies such as data entry jobs do cheat task takers without paying them. They will try to misuse in the name of crowdsourcing.

No blog entries for 2 months !!! I suppose Kiruba blogs only when he needs something from blog readers (acceptable) or to bash someone when he thinks that they have done some injustice to him.
kiruba.co.in is very informative. The article is very professionally written. I enjoy reading kiruba.co.in every day.
Could you kindly translate your site into Italian as I’m not very comfortable reading it in English? I’m getting tired of using Google Translate all the time, there is a handy WP plugin called like global translator which will translate all your posts automatically- this will make reading articleson your great blog even more enjoyable. Cheers dude, Writing Guide & Info!
great post, raises valid points
