Today evening, I’m hosting and moderating the launch event of InterviewDesk, a marketplace which aims to be India’s largest community of interviewers. This is the entrepreneurial venture of Pichumani Durairaj, who comes with over 15 years of HR experience in companies such as Amazon and KLA Tencor.
It’s a fascinating experience to see the kind of planning and preparation that goes into the event. Multiple planning meets, conference calls, minute-by-minute scheduling, group updates over WhatsApp. This level of preparedness is a good indication of the attention to detail that will be invested in the new company.
Here’s wishing InterviewDesk and its team the very best.
Young Entrepreneur School (YES) is an organiztion which aims to encourage entrepreneurship. They have multiple chapters in smaller towns in Tamilnadu for they believe that these places lack opportunity and knowledge.
I was invited to conduct a workshop on Digital Marketing for business to about 80 entrepreneurs.
At the start of the event, everyone too a pledge. Among the many points, the one I liked best was this one.
I will pledge that that I will grow my business by a minimum of 30% year on year.

What’s an anti-cafe, you ask? Well, a cafe where you pay for the time and get coffee free !!
Very unique, eh? I visited the Backyard Cafe to attend a Storytelling Session. I must say that I looked the place at first sight. It’s a nice meetup place for creative projects. A place for coworking, open-ended events or brainstorming sessions.
It’s run by two young girls who are architects. Clearly, you can see a lot of design aesthetics. They describe their goal to bring people and ideas together, creating a space that enhances the little things in life that often are overlooked.
The place is in the backyard of a large independent house and thus the name.
The storytelling session I attended. They have a room for events on the first floor.
This place is part of a residential neighbourhood in Adyar. Easy to miss but for this small, innocuous sign.
I like the colourful interiors.
The official chapter of SPIC-MACAY is getting inaugurated today at Great Lakes Institute of Management, where I teach. Brings back memories of my association with the group during my college days.
