Social Selling is about influencing the buying decision and closing the sale. Social Media Marketing is about creating awareness and spreading the word. Both are needed for an effective digital strategy.
I’ve been consulting on digital strategies for clients for a very long time. I’m definitely seeing a shift in how clients look at digital. Their expectations have moved on from vanity metrics to solid impact on the business bottomline. They are more focused on Return on Investment on digital spends. This is what motivated me to focus more on digital selling strategies and thus this book.
My 23 years of experience in the digital medium. Every single day of my professional working life has been in the digital field.
I’m currently participating in NaNoWriMo and aim to finish writing the first draft by November 2019. The whole of December would be spent on editing and refining the manuscript. January 2020 will be focused on formatting, designing and publishing. I hope to launch my book at the Professional Speakers Summit 2020 at New Delhi on February 1, 2020.
The intial set of material stems from my own experience of working on digital projects for clients. I have reached out to over 50 experts from around the world to tap into their wisdom. These interviews helped a lot. I also researched on successful brands who have had excellent RoI using the digital medium. That provided some very useful input for the book. Finally, I crowdsourced inputs from folks in the Digital Marketiing field.
Right now, I’m publishing this on my own through NotionPress.
The lengthy gestation time. I find the entire process very frustratingly long. I have had two of my books published through publishers and I did not find they added much value. I feel comfortable having full control of my book and hence decided to go down this route.
