The society of the media sciences was inaugurated in the beginning of this academic year at Vivekananda Auditorium with the presence of our vice chancellor Dr.E.Balagurusamy and Shri S.K Sharma, the chief executive Officer, Prasar Bahrathi as the chief guest. He delivered a talk challenges in public service broadcasting with special reference to media there was an interactive session with the students from Department of media science Anna University also students and various colleges around the city. Dr.G.Ramayain the Dean of College of Engineering, Guindy, DR.Sreedhar Director AVRC, Dr.V.C.Ravichandran the President of the society and the professor and Head of Department of media sciences and T.ramesh, final year electronic media student and Secretary of the society were among those present. As a part of the Society Activities a One day seminar was conducted in which there were many lecturers by various personalities. It included a lecture about documentary production by Mr.S.Krishnaswamy of Krishnaswamy Associates, Mr.Kiruba Shankar of f5ive tech gave a talk on new media and Mr.Ramaswamy spoke in the media agencies Mr. K.Srinivasan finally concluded the session with his lecture on corporate communication.
In the afternoon session, lecturers on print media where delivered by Mr.D.Suresh kumar of Indian express and Mr.R.Nurullah of Dina malar in the afternoon session Mr.K.P.Sunil the vice president of JAYA TV with his presentation on television concluded the session with a presentation on T.V.
An interactive session was held with the students after every lecture.
