Dyed Jasmines? Yup. No Kidding. The flower seller had different varieties of jasmine on sale and one of them was “saayam malli” or dyed jasmines – Jasmines that had been soaked in ‘blue’ (same as in ‘Ujala’ blue), the ones that the dhobies add to water to make white shirts look whiter. I was quite amazed.
