Three Stories by Steve Jobs
This is a fantastic speech by Steve Jobs at the commencement ceremony at Stanford University. You can see he talks with passion, even though its only text. It’s an absolute must read.
My favorite part of the speech.
When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?”
P.S: Shiloh points us to the video of this speech. At first I was a bit disappointed that he read out of his papers. I thought this was an impromptu talk. Nevertheless, his speech starts getting really engrossing towards the end. Especially wait for his third story. Touching.
