While I am a strong believe in the 10,000-hour rule(If you keep working at something you’ll only get better at it),I also believe in exploring other interests, And ,that explains my journey so far.

My attraction with sharing thoughts on the internet space happened by chance. We had an in-house
journal, called Technology (how boring, right?) in college and I was made the editor. I guess it gave me a false feeling that my writing was good enough to be published. So, I began sending articles to various leading tech-related journals. Of course I was rejected nine out of ten times, but the one time that my article got published, I was absolutely thrilled. Just to see my byline in print and to know that so many people were reading it made me really happy! But , I had put in a lot of hard work into all the pieces I wrote and didn’t feel like discarding them. That’s when I decided to put them up on free sites. I was really surprised that there were many people who interested in reading my articles. In fact ,people starting emailing me with feedback and commenting on my work…I realised how powerful the written word was and how effective it could be online.

I feel really old to think that I was around when the term ‘blog’ was coined(laughs). Anyway, I started my own blog and updated it regularly with just about anything travel, work, opinions…suddenly, the whole world seemed so much closer! But, what it did substantially was swing open corporate doors. You know ,the last three 9-5 job offers I have got have all come through mu blog! And ,In the interview , it seemed like they already knew me.

Thanks to the blog, I’ve got to do many things I wouldn’t have dreamt of doing. I have even got the
rate opportunity to write a book- something that was on my ‘bucket list’! More than just work, sharing my experiences online and having a dialogue with people from all over the world has given me the opportunity to meet some really interesting people. For instance, I run an online podcast show now, which is egoistically called Kiruba.tv(grins), where I meet leaders and achievers from all walks of life. This show is already a huge hit because I note only interview noteworthy people ,but also get the public involved by including their questions and crediting them in the interview.

As for making the web space profitable , I think one should explore non-traditional avenues to make
money! My motto is give away your expertise for free. It may not work immediately because people think anything that’s free is low-grade, but you’ll slowly gain creditability and reap the benefits. Another strong belief I live by is to be the first in whatever you do.99 percent of people are content to follow someone. It is the 1 percent that take the chance who are actually success….”

“I have 15 years of work experience ,and somehow ,I have managed to be associated with the internet space all the time.
