In conversation with Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO of Vistara Airlines, on expansion plans and more
Phee Teik Yeoh has been the CEO of Vistara Airlines since 2014 and while his contract ends soon, he has helped in the airline’s growth.
For those who haven’t heard of Vistara, the new airline was formed as a result of collaboration between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines. When asked about the airline, he said, “Vistara Airlines is going to transform the flying experience in India forever. It vows to bring back the joy in flying by focussing on excellent customer service.”
“Vistara is the product of two iconic global brands famed for their hospitality. There was high expectation when setting up the airline and if we were to trace the history of the joint venture, it is 20 years in the making.”
He also said that the Indian aviation industry is on the cusp of change “primarily because the consumer values are fast shifting away from price focus to placing greater emphasis on value for money”.
Having spent over 26 years with Singapore Airlines, he has held different leadership roles, such as General Manager of Singapore Airlines’ operations in UK and Ireland and Vice-President of the American Southwest operations, within the company. As Leslie Thng gets ready to take over as the new CEO of Vistara, Phee Teik plans to head back to Singapore Airlines.
