TCS and TATA group launch Tsunami Disease Surveillance Network

To identify early the spread of epidemics following the Asian Tsunami a Tsunami Disease Surveillance System has been set up on . Relief workers from the various Aid Organizations and Governments can report diagnosed cases of Cholera, Gastro-enteritis, Malaria, Typhoid and Dengue as well as suspected cases where the patients have not been seen by a doctor.

The Block level and Village Level numbers of reported cases can be seen on the Map of the region so as to enable Governments and Aid Organizations to know where medical relief is needed most.This system has been initially set up for the three worst affected Districts of Tamil Nadu in India, namely Nagapattinam, Cuddalore and
