Chinmaya Mission runs a magazine called Chinmaya Udgosh and its editor, Prasanna, wanted to conduct a workshop for all its writers from across India. With the help of Sanakarnarayanan, ex-journalist at Indian Express, they have lined up trainers from the media industry. Here are the topics. I look forward to learning from the team.

Content Diversity for an Editorial Team – Bharath Kumar, IT Editor, The Hindu Business Line

“The Value of Double Quotes”
– Ramnath, Chief Reporter, Economic Times

Developing Your Own Style - Me

Avoiding Assumptions - Swahilya, Chief Reporter, The Hindu

Kribs…think the Bharat Kumar you are talking abt is Aparna Padmanabhan’s husband….wonder if you remember her. Check anyway.

  2. Sathyaraj says:

i have never seen the topics more crisp and meaningful..is the open to public?

  3. Sri from US says:

Kiruba, will you post in this blog about what you spoke about ‘having your own style’. Please do, you are unique, curious to see your views on this topic. Will help someone like me who wants to have a unique style in blogging…

  4. Santhal also from US says:

    Kiruba sir,

Kindly do tell us about your “own style” da. Does it consist of grammatical mistakes, sentences that do not flow into the next and the packaging of as much crap possible in a single line? Does it consist of saying “cool” and “shit” and “baby” sporadically, in order to show how “with it” you are? Does it consist of shameless self-promotion, commenting on your blog with other people’s names [the ubiquitous "Kiruba rocks"] and your claim to be India’s No 1 blogger, based on the bogus rankings of a company you yourself run?

It is unfortunate that the really good bloggers never call your bluff and the TV channels simply follow the source of the most noise, feeding the farce that is Kiruba Shankar.

  5. GasquetFan says:

    santhal from US,

wat aar oo taaking?? Kiruba rocks.

  6. sankechita says:

    Hello Kiruba
This is Vishnu from Chinmaya Mission who attended your session. Thanks for your gyan – the audience really liked it!
And I would get back on the auditorium rates by tomorrow evening.

  8. Prasanna Karthik R says:

    Hi Kiruba…

This is Prasanna from Chinmaya Mission. Thanks for the insightful session and we look forward to a long association… Thanks once again.

  9. Santhosh says:

    Hi Kriba,
Your session has left a special vibs in me. I literally used to hate writing. But after attending your session I am more enthused to take up writing. Wish to write a book and hand over the first copy to you. :)

    Santhosh from Chinmaya Yuva Kendra.

  10. Swahilya says:

    Hi Kiruba, Nice meeting you!

  11. Anonymous says:

Man..Kiruba gets so much flack for grammatical errors..Geez..not like he’s the editor of Time magazine or anything..talk about pedantic..I say keep em coming Kiruba.

    Suresh Nair.

    Kiruba Rocks Santhal is chandal

  13. Santhal also from US says:

Calling me chandal? Yes sir that I am.

    Now dear Santhosh,

So King Kribs left you with “special vibs”[My, what a lovely rhyme]. Please tell us what “vibs” is.Is it a special virus of poor grammar that Kiruba spreads to anyone who has contact with him? Is it a mutated form of the avian flu? Looking forward to reading your book soon or should we call it an un-book?

  14. Anonymous from nowhere says:

Santhal from somewhere,TV channels are after him may be because he is photogenic. It is Kiruba’s blog and it is upto him to write whatever he want. If you don’t want to read, don’t read it. You would get a similar answer from him, if you write comment like what you wrote. But that would be a waste time from your part. So instead we just “Kiruba rocks”. No, certainly Kiruba is not paying us for wirting “Kiruba rocks”.

    Gasquetfan, what you say?

    Kiruba, you still rock..

  15. Santhal also from US says:

    @Anonymous from Nowhere:

Whenever you put your work [and I deliberated whether to call stuff on this blog as "work"] in the public domain, you open yourself to criticism. This is more so once you start claiming to be India’s No 1 blogger.

By your token, no-one can criticize movies also since no-one is compelling one to see them.

I agree to one thing. He is very photogenic.

  16. Anonymous says:

So Final Verdict is Kiruba Rocks Santhal is Chandal.(period)

Kiruba goes to Singapore tonight what you doing santhal in graveyard

  17. Rajesh Anandakrishnan says:

chandal, I think you have not met Kiruba in person. He is downto earth and easily approachable and he is helpful.
