Tweetup : The Chennai Twitter Meetup

This had to happen. Someone had to do it. So, there you go! :)

Honestly, its just a nice excuse for a casual meeting with new people. Meeting in meatspace is a lot more interesting than anything online.

We are looking for a small group of folks enjoying a nice evening of conversation. Preferably not more than 8 to 10 folks. Most twitter users are early tech adopters and it’ll be good hearing their views.

The tweetup reminds me of the Blogger meets that used to happen many years ago. As blogging became mainstream, the novelty wore off and they faded away. The tweetup is just another avatar.

If you are interested, here are the coordinates.

Venue: Amethyst Cafe, Off Peters Road. (Not far away from Satyam theatres)
Date: Sunday, 23rd March
Time: 5:00 PM

Typical meetups last for two hours. We go dutch on bills.

If you’d like to make it to the small group, add your twitter id to the wiki http://tweetup.pbwiki.com . The password is twitter.

A nice choice of place for the meetup!! It’s been my personal favourite for the last one year!!

Kiruba Shankar says:

Yeah Shravan, a cool place. Though Sunday evenings are more crowded than usual and can get a tad noisy. But nothing to beat the greenery.

Sash... says:

Should we inform Amethyst that we would like some calmness for Sunday evening :P …..

Mr. M says:

bloggers meet turned out to be blogcamp. Hope this comes too like that:)

Kiruba Shankar says:

@Mr.M, oh hell no. I hope not. Somethings are better if they are small.

I was also wondering if some initiative can be taken for doing the next barcamp in Chennai ! You know its a looong time since it was in Chennai . Myself & friends are already in the initiative …. it would be good if we get more hands and lots of advice :-)

Karthiksn says:
