After my favorite sms site, MTNsms.com shut shop for a revamp, www.SMS.ac has been a good alternative. These guys seem to have a decent business model. They give away 5 free messages a day to lure in people to their site, then impress them with good serice later convince them to cough $10 a month for 1500 messages. This may sound like good savings for the US market ( almost 50% savings ) but for us Indians it is 50% more expensive. Upon subscription, a single message works to Rs.3 which twice the normal Rs.1.50 charged by Indian mobile service providers. ( that is assuming you actually use up all the 1500 message quota per month ). We are better off sending messages from our mobile phones. You guys have better idea ?
