I read in Jason Kottke’s blog that he just moved into his new house to find free wireless internet access wafting in the air. I’m beginning to believe that this is what’s going to happen in the future. It’s gonna be like FM radio. Switch on your Desktops, Notebook, PDAs and just start surfing. Jason’s experience reminded me of the time when we had just moved into a new house in Pondicherry. Those were the days when we were getting only Doordarshan on TV back in the 80’s ( Doordarshan is India’s national TV channel ). Setting up the TV antenna was going to take some time. So we fixed the wire to an aluminium ladle ( the one that is used to server sambhar and gravy !! ) and placed it on the window sill. And voila !
