It can be acutely embarrasing when an important guest makes a telephone call from my home only to hear the message, “You cannot make outgoing calls because you have not paid your bills. Please make your payment immediately”. The awkwardness of the guest was only surpassed by our astonishment, especially when you had deposited the cheque three weeks back. So I make a not-so-flattering call to the customer service with a not-so-veiled threat of taking this matter to the higher officials. One hour later, things were restored. But could they restore the image that took a beating in the eyes of the guest?
