Turtle Walk : While I was lounging around with my friends around midnight at New Beach near Kotivakkam, i noticed a bunch of about 50 people walk in a group along the sea-shore. I was beginning to wonder what these people are doing at this ungodly time in a deserted beach. Then it stuck me that these are actually nature enthusiasts who go on turtle walks to protect the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles. Here is a detailed write up in today’s Hindu with photographs.

After reading about their activties, I’m inspired to be part of the Sea Turtle Conservation Network. Am joining up in their next turtle walk.
