Yesterday evening, I got to meet Matthew , a lecturer from University of Glasgow who was on a two week visit to India from Scotland. He had come down to India to promote the Humanist movement and conduct health camps for the underpriveledged people in the outskirts of Chennai….with his own money. Don’t know, how many of us would do this.

I met him at the Indian Express office where Sankar had arranged for a meeting. Matty, as he is called, came across as an interesting person. He told us about Scottish way of life while we fed him with insights from our side. It was like two pen friends discussing. On my invitation, he stayed the night at my place. He’d be flying back to Scotland tonight. Nice to come across a person with selflessness who has the penchant of seeing positive things in humans.
