A Bottle of Pickle at Re.1

It’s the 21st century, yet some of the strange traditions hasn’t left us. When we visited a relative’s place, we gave them a bottle of pickle which my grandma had prepared. After we finished our two day visit at their place and about to leave, my aunt who is the host, thrust a one rupee coin in my wife’s hand.

Apparently giving pickle to family members will create enemity amongst families. So by giving one rupee, you are actually buying the stuff thus evading the bad omen. !!
