The Hindu, Don’t Do This!

I was taken aback by today’s edition of The Hindu. Their front page has an advertisement for Maruti Alto which looks just like one of their main stories.

The big bold headline reads, “No hike in petrol price“. There’s even a blurb below the title. The story goes on to talk about an Internet survey about fuel price hike and its result. It goes on to show as if Alto is the car with the highest mileage.

Honestly, I think they have compromised their editorial stand. I have respect for the paper which is what makes me cringe when I see stuff like this.
