In Blogging

I’m ashamed. I’ll tell you why.

I have been among the earliest bloggers in India who started way back in 2002. I’ve drafted blogging curriculum for universities. Conducted lots of workshops. Consulted for large corporations on blogging strategies. Heck, one of my companies is even called ‘Business Blogging’. Yet, I’ve been grossly inconsistent in blogging.

Recently, I co-hosted the ‘Himalayan Blogging and Podcasting Retreat‘. A dozen participants flew in from various parts of India for a 3-day intensive workshop. One of the participants, the very affable Sangeeta Mahajan, has been continuously blogging for 925 days. And counting. That’s right. Blogging every single day. And I am to teach her blogging?!
There was this guilt gnawing inside me. It was time to take corrective action.

At the end of the workshop, each of us listed down our ‘Big Hairy Audacious Goal’. Something that will help us push our own boundaries. Something that will force us to get out of the comfort zone. When my turn came up, this is what I said.

To Produce Original Content Every Single Day for the Next 1000 Days

To Produce Original Content Every
(Original content can be an audio podcast, YouTube video, Facebook status or a newspaper column.)

And these will go up on Kiruba.com as blog posts. Every single day.

Thank you, Sangeeta. You came to learn from me. You also taught me.
