Crows are intelligent and I saw an example of it this evening. The auto driver had just bought a streaming plate of ‘sundal’ (boiled chickpeas) from a roadside vendor and settled down to eat.
As soon as he sat down, two crows came near him asking for a bite (much like how dogs do). The guy took a spoonful of chickpeas and threw it on the ground for them.
I anticipated them to quickly peck at them. Nope. They didn’t. They stood guard next to the chickpeas. After two minutes of waiting, they began eating.
They were actually waiting for the hot chickpeas to cool down. Just wow!
