I’m Kiruba Shankar. This is my personal space to write down whatever bubbles up from within. Is it a weblog? Is it a journal? Is it a diary? Why pigeonhole. What may sound like verbal diahhrea is actually nuggets of interesting experiences in my life. I write what I like. And I like what I write. . If you don’t....tch tch... too bad.

I earn my daily bread as the CEO of Business Blogging Pvt Ltd, a social media consultancy. I'm also the founder Director of F5ive Technologies, a firm specializing in Web Development. See? When you run your own stuff, you can give yourself some real fancypants titles!

I'm a co-founder of The Knowledge Foundation, a non-profit body that believes in the spirit of sharing knowledge. We are the guys behind Proto.in (Entrepreneruship event), BlogCamp, PodWorks, WikiCamp, BarCampChennai, MobileMonday Chennai, OpenCoffeeClub Chennai and the CC Salon.

I'm fairly deep into teaching and make sure to devote certain period of time to it. I currently teach New Media at the Asian College of Journalism, Madras Advertising Club, SRM University and the International Institute of Journalism, Berlin.

My other significant interest is in writing on technology. I currently author a tech column at the New Indian Express and co-author the NASSCOM Emerge blog.

I'm a sports freak, especially with team games. Prefer playing to watching. I captained the Sify Rowing Team to four M&B Regatta Championship titles, a feat I'm extremely proud of. I love cycling and over the past 8 years, used it as my primary transport to office. My running interest comes in spasms and managed to participate and complete the Chennai and Bangalore Marathon. My current interest is Ultimate Frisbee.
