Today is Varalakshmi Nombu, an auspicious day when wives do pooja, praying for the longevity of their husbands. My wife had taken the day off from her office and we had plans to do pooja and offer anna dhanam to poor people. I had wanted to go home in the afternoon but got stuck in office. I completely forgot the fact that my wife wouldn’t eat until I come and finish the pooja. She hadn’t eaten till I went home later in the evening. I felt so damn awash with guilt. I wouldn’t have felt half as bad, had I not eaten a sumptious lunch with colleagues! Damn!
