Google Brings RSS into GMail. Calls it Web Clips.

At first, I thought GMail had introduced ads on top of the GMail inbox. On closer look, it looked like these were news items from leading online publications. On further inspection, I realised that it’s a news feed section in which you can set in RSS feeds from your favorite websites.

One can turn off this if they don’t like it. The disable button is first on the customize page and for that they get a point in giving more control to the user.
