When ICICI Bank Becomes a Jewelry Shop For a Day

I was at the ICICI ATM to draw some cash, when a banner caught my attention. It said, “All ICICI Bank branches will remain open on Sunday, 30th April 2006 for Akshaya Tritiya, only for gold purchases”.

Only for gold purchases? Whoa! That’s new. First time I’m hearing a bank selling only gold. And what’s more, the banner even looked like that from a jewelry shop from North Usman Road. Take a look at this online banner to get an idea.
