Whatta Match! Totally loved the first Indo-Pak cricket match. When 6 runs had to be scored off the last ball by Pakistan, it reminded me so much of that infamous sixer by Javed Miandad off Chetan Sharma’s full toss. Today, it kinda shocked me to see Nehra risk a full toss when a yorker could’ve been the safe bet. Nevertheless, that’s one of the better last-over I’ve seen.

It was heart-warming to see the Indian players applaud the audience and even better when the audience gave a standing ovation. *That* one single moment was worth all the sweat and hard work of organising the tournament. It reminded me of the crowd at Chennai’s Chepauk statium which gave a standing ovation when the Pak team did a victory lap after beating India.

The tomatoes in my terrace garden are turning luscious red. I’d be harvesting them next week for my favorite “Thakkali Chutney” (tomato gravy). Yummm!

On a related note, my neighbour just couldn’t understand why I grow tomatoes. He said, “Hey,tomatoes cost just Rs.2 per kilo. Isn’t it easier just buying it?”. I tried to explain to him the joy of creating life and being in oneness with nature… but he just couldn’t understand !

It was heart-wrenching to watch *really* big trees being chain-sawed and uprooted for road expansion. These trees could easily be over 60 years old and they are so big that if two of us wrapped our arms around its trunk, we still wouldn’t be able to touch each other. I understand the need to decongest the burgeoning traffic on the Vadapalani Arcot Road, which kinda alleviates the pain a little bit. Yet, it hurts. And I can see the hurt on many others’ eyes as they pass thru those chopped carcass of uprooted trees.

Add words to your pictures : Fotonotes.net is brilliant. It helps you add annotations to your pics. I had always wanted to do this but the hardwork of hotspotting in dreamweaver and coding in javascript kept me away from it. Now here is a site that does all the work for you. To see what I’m talking about, take a look at Ev’s Google workplace.

It’s a free service, so give it a spin. For some reason, I couldn’t register. It kept saying my cookies are not enabled even though I made sure that they are.

Light, Camcorder, Action : Yesss, I’m getting a Sony DCR-TRV19, the cute handycam that fits into your palm. I’m getting it from the US and the baby should reach me in the third week of this month. Can’t wait.

I originally thought I’d buy it off the grey market here in Chennai, but I’ve heard that smugglers whack the ‘Carl Zeiss’ speciality lens off the camera. Didn’t want to risk it.

Now, if only the days could move faster !!

Whaaat!! Bush for Nobel Peace Prize?!! Somebody’s gotto be kidding. Bush and Peace is probably the best example for an oxymoron. Thank God, its just a nomination. He’s just a part of a 194 member list. I have good trust in the Nobel committee and am sure they’ll weed out the rogues.
